About Reliance Jio Internship

Reliance Jio was registered in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat on February 15, 2007, originally as Infotel Broadband Services Limited (IBSL). In June 2010, Reliance Industries (RIL) acquired a 95% stake in IBSL for ₹4,800 crore (equivalent to ₹110 billion or US$1.3 billion in 2023). IBSL was the only company to win broadband spectrum in all 22 circles in India during the 4G auction that year. It was later renamed Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL) in January 2013, continuing as RIL’s telecom subsidiary.

Jio announced its nationwide operations in June 2015, initially planning to launch by the end of that year but later postponing to the first quarter of the financial year 2016–2017. Despite facing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding the granting of a pan-India license, the Supreme Court dismissed the accusations, allowing Jio to continue its operations.
