Objective of the Jal Shakti Internship

The Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation, invites applications from graduate/postgraduate students or research scholars in Mass Communication or related fields in India. This Government Ministry Internship aims to engage students from recognized universities/institutions in relevant fields as interns.

Purpose of the Government Ministry Internship / Jal Shakti Mantralaya Internship 2024

The Jal Shakti Internship provides short-term exposure for selected candidates, allowing them to work with the Department’s media and social media activities. This program helps interns understand the Department’s operations in media-related tasks and assists in promoting awareness about water resource management. The internship also provides insight into the functioning of the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria for the Jal Shakti Internship / Jal Shakti Mantralaya Internship 2024

Eligible candidates for the Jal Shakti Internship / Jal Shakti Mantralaya Internship 2024

must be bona fide students of recognized universities/institutions in India. This includes:

• Postgraduate students or research scholars in mass communication, journalism, public relations, or related fields.
• MBA (Marketing) students or graduates with at least 55% marks or equivalent in their previous courses.
• Students with skills in writing, communication, time management, organization, marketing, customer service, relationship building, strategic and analytical thinking, and creativity.

Duration of the Internship

The Government Ministry Internship spans 6 months, starting from the date of joining, with a possible extension of up to three months for deserving candidates. Note that interns must complete the full six months to receive a certificate.

Placement for the Government Ministry Internship

Selected interns will be placed with senior officials in the Department, such as the Deputy Secretary, Director, Joint Secretary, or the office of Secretary (WR, RD&GR). They will work closely with the IEC Section of the Department.
