Government Internship at FSSAI
The FSSAI Internship Scheme 2024 offers learning opportunities for young talents in Foods and Nutrition through a beneficial Industry-Academia collaboration. Eligibility Criteria for FSSAI Internship
Students pursuing a full-time Graduate/Post Graduate Degree or higher from recognized institutions in India or abroad can apply. Eligible fields of study include:
- Post Graduate Degree/B.Tech/BE in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural or Horticultural Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, or Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
- Business Administration & Management, including policy regulation and related fields.
- PG Diploma/Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, and Public Relations.
- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related streams.
- Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Public Policy or Public Administration.
- Bachelor/Master of Law.
Students in the 3rd or 4th year of their 4-year Bachelor’s program in Food Technology or related fields are also eligible to apply.
Application Process For FSSAI Internship Scheme 2024
Internships are available throughout the year for a minimum duration of 4 weeks. Interested and eligible students can apply online by 17th June 2024 for the internship starting in July 2024. Use a working email address to fill out the application. An application ID will be provided after submission, which can be used to modify the application multiple times before final submission.

Internship Details
Tenure
Internships are available on a quarterly basis, with a minimum duration of 2 months, extendable up to 6 months.
Placement
Interns can be placed in various FSSAI divisions, including HQ in New Delhi, regional offices in Kolkata and Chennai, and national food laboratories in Chennai, Ghaziabad, Raxaul, and Kolkata. Interns must have their own laptops, as FSSAI will provide working space, internet facilities, but not local lodging or travel expenses.

Requirements at Joining
Interns need a letter from their institute indicating their student status, a “No Objection Certificate,” a character certificate, and proof of educational qualifications.
Assignments
Interns will be assigned to projects related to various aspects of food and nutrition management processes based on their academic and technical training.
Stipend and Certification
Deserving interns will receive a stipend of Rs. 10,000 for the internship period, based on their attendance, performance evaluation, and final report assessment. Successful interns will receive a completion certificate after the review of their final report/presentation.
